Prospect Notebook: Edward Mujica

Edwin Mujica: RHP Age: 23
Pitcher: Releiver
Acquired: Free Agent(VENEZUELA '01)
2007 Cleveland/Buffalo: 2-1, 50 Innings, 5.86 ERA, 51 Strikeouts, 14 SV
2008 Team: Buffalo
ETA: 2008 Depth

Mid 90's Fastball, Slider, Split Finger Fastball. Great command and trust in his stuff.

Bulldog mentality that is perfect as a reliever.

Ed Mujica was the first guy on the bus to Cleveland whenever the Tribe had a bullpen injury last year. Expect more of the same. Mujica is still young though and really it's just a waiting game. If Joe Borowski and Aaron Fultz are no longer on the team next year that opens up a great possibility for two slots to be open which would make Mujica probably the first in line to take the spot. He just has to continue to work hard and be a depth option for the big league team. Sooner or later there will be no keeping him off the Active Roster. It was reported he came in to Indians Camp in 2008 in better shape with noticeable weight loss which is good because he looked a little big in previous years.

Notes: Former Starter
