Akron is just knocking the ball around the park against Erie so far. They won again last night, this time with a 9-1 score. Trevor Crowe was back in the lineup after sitting out Monday with a bruised chest. He went 3-3 with a double and two runs scored.
Stephen Head and Wes Hodges supplied the production by knocking in four and two respectively, including Head's solo home run.
Kinston got another beating at the hands of Potomac again last night. Jeanmar Gomez gave up six earned.
6th round pick Jeremie Tice knocked in two runs for a Scrappers win. Russell Young pitched five innings of one hit ball, yielding just one run for Mahoning Valley.
Dustin Realini is just another one of those Lake County Captains in another magical season for the young group.
We could have some shakeup in the bullpen with the parent club soon. The dominoe of Randy Newsome has finally fallen.
Newsome was bound to get called up with Vinnie Pestano going to Kinston and Luis Perdomo going to Akron. He has now been promoted to Buffalo and when not if Jeff Stevens gets called up, he should take over the closers role.
A Jeff Stevens move could be coming soon, hell maybe today. There is no announcement on a move to get Newsome on the Roster, so it very well could be a Rick Bauer DFA and Stevens call up, because Stevens is no on the 40 Man.
Also, Tony Sipp is done rehabing for the GCL and is now with Kinston. He'll be back at Buffalo before we know it. If things continue down this route we might see him in Cleveland before the year is done.
