Here is all you need to know.
Before the game, general manager Mark Shapiro admitted the Tribe's division fate is "pretty obvious." (Indians.com)
Well then.. I'm pretty sure he didn't mean they were gonna end up winning this thing in a shocking turn around.
Those changes I hinted at in the title could all be in the pen here coming up. Wedge mentioned he might make a change at closer, but he surely wants to back off using Kobayashi, Perez, and Betancourt as much as he has..
Why not? You aren't winning games with them. We are gonna see a lot more Mastny, Mujica and Rick Bauer if he stays. I can see them calling up a Brian Slocum who has been dominant in his last 7 games since his conversion.
Let's get back to the moves you care about though.
Mark Shapiro was pretty clear that he wouldn't be verbally waving the white flag. But he pretty much said so.
"If you're looking for an announcement that we're going to start trading guys, you won't get that until we make our first trade. But I think it's fairly obvious at this point."
No doubt changes are coming and we could see a flurry of them TODAY.
Oh and Adam Russell the guy who got the win last night and the night before(his first two major league wins two nights in a row), grew up an Indians fan and went to OhioU. CastroTurf was fawning over his fellow alumni yesterday in his blog.
Ah well.. I'll make it short.. I'm sure I'll be back with some more stuff today about roster moves.
