bloated from going out to eat and ordering the pie, but I don't feel like talking about this game.
In fact I'm not going to.
Okay.... I am.
I was watching the last few innings from way back in the restaurant on a little TV, so I couldn't see.. But I saw the damn home run.
Really... I've about had it with this bullpen. There is no more excuses for them, the starting pitching isn't sucking anymore... The offense is scoring runs... They SHOULD NOT be giving up these games like this.
This pen has been reconstructed all too well for them to be mucking around.
Vinnie Chulk did a good job for the most part, really picked us up in a bad spot.
But then Eric Wedge hands the ball over to Rafael Betancourt, his most trusted relief pitcher at this point, and he goes ahead and gacks it up.
I swear I don't know anymore.. And don't go second guessing Wedge for taking Sipp out.. He got out of that inning. He set it up as best he could, who the hell else is he going to go to? No one else can be trusted.
And now apparently, not even The Gavel.
I'm fed up with this mediocrity from what was supposed to be the most solid unit on the team.
That game was hand-delievered on a SILVER PLATTER for that team.. The offense got several breaks, took advantage of the miscues, and put the team in a position to win.
And the bullpen gacked it up... And I'm pissed.

Nino,
I think the call-ups are not nearly over. This is job-saving time: you-know-who. This is get fannies in the seats time. If J. Lewis-Betancourt and a couple others don't get the job done very soon, I think we'll see some names come out of Akron. Have you seen the ERAs of some of those lead-leading Akron pitchers?
Peter
Yeah.. I'm not sure if that's the answer though. No one really has a Jensen Lewis type vibe(someone who started in Double-A and was up in the majors by the end of the year). I'd be willing to give Randy Newsom a shot (he's deserved one for awhile now), he's in Triple-A now. Scott Roehl maybe too. No one else is really on the pecking order. John Meloan needs to get it together.
These guys up here, Lewis, Los Raffys.. I guess you could throw Joe Smith in there, but it sounds like the fact he missed half of spring has thrown him off.. They all need to get it together if this team is going to be successful.
