Anyone have John Meloan on the next to be traded pool?

I didn't.. I didn't even have him on the list.

I wrote that this morning.

This is downright stupid.

The Indians traded Meloan to Tampa for Winston Abreu.

You might be saying, oh well who's Winston Abreu, and will he help us?

The answer to that second question is, I don't know.

But the answer, really doesn't mean jack.

Because Winston Abreu is a 32 year old Triple-A relief pitcher.

WHAT?

Yeah I just said that.

Meloan as we know was the 18th ranked prospect by Baseball America. Tony had him at 14 on his list.

He was considered a bit of a throw in to the Casey Blake for Carlos Santana deal..

But he was also trying to readjust to pitching in the bullpen.

And now he's going to Tampa Bay.

They didn't even give the guy a chance!

He's 24 years old and we are trading him away for a 32 year old who won't even be in the organization next year?

THIS GUY WAS IN JAPAN LAST YEAR!!!

HEY JOHN MCENROE.

YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS!

I don't know.. I don't understand.. It makes no sense in any shape, way or form. This team isn't contending, they won't be contending, so big league bullpen help is not needed!

This is ridiculous.

There has to be something with it right?

I hope so... But I can't see why this small move could be a part of a bigger machine.

It just makes no sense from any angle you look at it.. I'll eat whatever type of crap that needs to be fed to me if something else turns out or whatever.. But there is nothing you could say at this point in time that can convince me this move makes sense.

And if something happens that makes it make sense, again, I'll eat it.. But right now, Mark Shapiro is being stupid.

It appears this move has it's own repercussions though as the Indians have seemingly signed LHP Bobby Livingston, who was recently released by the Orioles organization. That move will make someone from Akron go up, someone from Columbus go out (Meloan), and since Abreu is on his way to Cleveland, someone is on their way out of Cleveland. To Columbus? Who knows, if so then no one is on their way to Akron and it's a whole mess.

Hector Rondon maybe to Columbus rather soon?

But my best guess is Matt Herges or Mike Goslings time is over anyway.

God this sucks eggs.. It doesn't make sense damnit. I was really looking forward to seeing Meloan. He was the replacement for Jeff Stevens.. Why would we trade a young bullpen arm, can someone explain this to me?

ANYONE?

MARK!?

MARK!!?

MARCUS!!

MARCUS F SHAPIRO!

ARE YOU OUT THERE?!?

No? Okay...
