Facebook Reactions Part II: Wedge Fired

Hello again... It's time for the second part of Facebook reactions to the Eric Wedge firing. If you were throughouly entertained by the yesterday's first part, today's will do the same, I hope. If you weren't, then you might as well just give up now.

Here is part I.

It is my understanding that a site called rotoinfo (the same site that leaked the "steroids list"), is stealing my content, as well as other blogs out there. If you read the comments, do not go to the link to their site the commenter mattdana provided. Do not visit their site period. It appears there is some sort of malware or virus Trojan Horse thing on it. I don't know why, but my Avast program pops up with the warning before I even load the site.

So they have viruses and steal content, yeah that's beautiful.

Anyway, here is part two of Facebook Reactions. Part III goes up tomorrow.

---

Wedge is getting the shaft, I know this is probably not so popular, but the front office guts the team and blames the lack of winning on the manager. Like many a Cleveland coach (Charlie Manual and Bill Belichick to name two) He'll probably go on to a championship

Shapiro never blamed Wedge, but I get what you are saying. That would be nice to see him get a ring with some team.

Wedge was not the entire problem... you are navie if you believe otherwise! Wish Wedge well!!!!

Wow, first comment I 100% agree with.

The Indians just need a little spark- a little excitement in the dugout, hence announcing in 2010, both Omar Vizquel and yes, Jose Mesa will be rejoining the team in reliever roles. (-:

Fifteen extra points for creativity on this one.

it's not Wedge's fault the indians suck. I mean look at our roster. It would make Tommy Lasorda look like a buffon if he was coaching. it's Shapiro and the Dolans fault

I’m looking at the roster... What am I looking for? Tommy Lasorda wouldn’t want to manage in Cleveland, he lives in freaking Los Angeles.

Good. Now we need to get rid of Shapiro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again, extra exclamation points doesn’t make it any more true.

Good Luck to Eric Wedge and his coaching staff! He is not to blame for the terrible shape this club is in Dolan had no business buying a club he cannot afford to keep As with anything you pay for what you get and if Dolan does not want to DOLE out the money to get good players what is a coach to do? He did the best with what he had He cannot play the games for them Eric is a nice man as well as all his coaching staff We were season ticket holders for spring training in winterhaven and every year Mr Willis would pick my daughter out to give her a ball They were ALWAYS friendly to the fans sorry to see them go Godspeed Mr Wedge and staff

Well you had me until you brought up Dolan. Sure Dolan bought the team at a point where it was probably worth less than what he paid for. Now the economy sucks and this group is stuck. Again though, this team has spent money, you people are just not understanding the pure facts. The end of your comment is very nice though, thank you for that.

this should be all we need to get us over the hump for the lead for the AL East Cellar. our unmagic number is 2?

We aren’t in the AL East numnuts. What the hell is an unmagic number?

Eric Wedge is a class act......They may find a better manage r but don't think they'll find a better MAN for the job than Wedge. Don't really matter who they hire. You won't see a winner in Cleveland with the Dolan's and Shapiro running the show.

So many of these comments have potential. If only they wouldn’t ruin it with Dolan and Shapiro bashing.

how, why get rid of rivera and skinner

Appreciate the concern… There’s still a chance they’ll be back, if the new manager wants them.

Get rid of the manager, yeah that makes sense! First you cut the legs out from under him by trading away players like Victor Martinez and then wonder why your team is faltering. A manager can only do so much, and if you don't provide him with the right players to get the job done, you get to reap the whirlwind! It's not Wedge's fault that the Indians have struggled this season, it's the fact that you've given up what made the Indians good. Unfortunately the truth is that in order to make money, you also have to spend it. Our first mistake was losing CC, yes he was gonna cost a lot more at contract time, but you didn't even try, you just packaged him off to the Brewers. Cliff Lee, our Cy Young award winner, why exactly did we get rid of him and Victor Martinez our all star catcher sold on for no apparent good reason. It seems this team gets good but the instant they seem to do well management has a meltdown and ruins it. I smell a rat, which U.S. city has offered to build us a new stadium if we managed to lose enough games to get out of our contract in Cleveland. Your not wrong this does feel a bit like Major League.

CC was offered and 18 million dollar per year deal. Not sure where you were. There is an apparent reason…it’s called finances. This feels nothing like Major League.

Above*, we wouldn't have needed to trade them if Wedge had done his job in the first place. We traded them because we were out of contention. We were out of contention because Wedge couldn't motivate them.

Wow differing opinions. How interesting.

It's not Wedge's fault...The owner needs to spend some major money and get some true talent and quit trading our awesome players.!!!

Okay I’ll give this person credit. They didn’t say spend money, they said spend major money. Points to you.

Its about time Dolan! Great Job dismantling the team this year!

Bravo Dolan, Bravo.

it is eric wedges fault!! how can people say its not his fault?!?!

Ya I’m not sure, they are so delusional.

i dont think it was all his fault, probably not the best move

Probably not….

He should have been gone at the end of July. Good news today.

Who the hell cares?

Why do we have to be the training camp for the Red Sox and Yankees? Maybe the management should take a look at themselves.

We are the football version of spring training for Boston and New York? This makes no sense.

Travis Fryman! He led the MV Scrappers to the NYPL Championship series in just his second season. Good influence for the younger players. Hard nosed but genuine good guy. Perfect fit. Smart baseball guy. DO IT SHAPIRO!

Yeah uh, look I love Travis and would love for him to advance in the system, but he doesn’t want to.

Shapiro should have fired himself, too.

That’d be pretty hard.

Never want someone to lose their job, but this guy was in over his head in crunch time. Examples are when they missed the 2006 wild card by playing tight and awful against the white sox at the end of the year and again in 2007 against the Red Sox...

Yeah it’s fault CC Sabathia completely crapped the bed in 2007’s playoffs.

Shapiro need to GOOOOO!

He must have to go to the bathroom, I finally figured it out!

Wedge wasn't the problem. Come next year when the indians still play like crap maybe someone will realize that Shapiro was always the problem. Wedge was great he just didnt have anything to work with (except carmona, grady, and asdrubal)

Yeah and Lee, Martinez, Hafner, Westbrook, Sabathia, blah-de-blah-de-blah.

wow hopefully they will do better next year!!

Hopefully!!!!!

Too bad the fans can't fire the Dolan Family and Shapiro to boot!! While I have never been convinced that Wedge was the man to take the Tribe back to WS he cannot shoulder the entire blame for this year's debacle.

That’s a pretty sensible look. Minus the fans firing anyone. That’s just a disaster waiting to happen.

Eric Wedge was not the problem!!!!!

I Agree!!!!!! Not the solution either, sadly.

We could bring in GOD to replace him, and still won't win without pitching. Spend some f****** money...i.e. red sox, yankees??

Oh so Jesus can’t teach a curveball but God can? Why did you question your example?

About time! Maybe now the team will play with some backbone.

Harsh.

wedge wasnt the problem. blame the dumbass dolan family

You dumbasses, I blame you DOLONSSSS!

It's a shame Eric Wedge got fired when the owner is the real problem. Mark Shapiro is Dolan's hand puppet.
It's funny how Wedge was coach of the year only 2 years ago...did he forget how to coach?

I didn’t notice Shapiro’s puppet like qualities. And No, he forgot how to manage. /sarcasm

If a team succeeds 1 out of 6 years, its considered an aberration, not normalcy. The team has the potential to be a playoff contender, and Wedge has proven more times than not that he is not capable of motivating the team properly.

Interesting….No really it is…

fire shiparo and dolon 2

Yeah fire Dolon, F him.

na nana na
na nana na
na nana na
heeeeyyyyy
goodbye!

This is just rude, screw you.
